Mohd Yong Kitchen is a rising family dining space in the competitive Eco Ardence, Selangor area. While their food was gaining a cult following, the brand needed a visual system that reflected its dual identity: Authentic Chinese culinary techniques met with Modern Malay Fusion. The challenge was to create an identity that felt “Family-First” yet “Premium-Modern,” but distinctive enough to reflect its Chinese traditional identity.
By blending traditional Chinese motifs with clean, contemporary minimalism, we created a visual language that honors its roots while appealing to the modern urban diner. The result is a brand experience that feels both nostalgic and fresh, positioning Mohd Yong Kitchen as a premier destination for Halal Chinese cuisine.
With a decade of specialized experience in Chinese cuisine, Chef Mohd Yong’s personal reputation was the brand’s greatest asset. Inspired by his 10 year legacy, our strategy was to institutionalize this human expertise, crafting a sophisticated identity that bridges the gap between the Chef’s artisanal roots and his vision for a modern, premier dining destination.
We designed a logo that blends heritage with culinary excellence, featuring custom serif typography and ornamental motifs inspired by traditional Chinese architectural signage. The logotype is framed within a classic plaque-style border to evoke the familiarity of a legacy family kitchen while maintaining a sophisticated, modern edge.
By combining deep, earthy umber tones with metallic copper accents, the identity mirrors the rich, smoky flavors of authentic stir-fry. It’s a brand mark designed to feel established and trustworthy, positioning Mohd Yong Kitchen as a premier destination for high-quality Chinese-Muslim seafood.

We integrated rich vermillion accents, classic ceramic-inspired motifs, and bold, clean typography to reflect a progressive Chinese-Muslim identity. While the aesthetics honor the soul of a traditional chinese cuisine, the information architecture remains modern and intuitive, ensuring a seamless ordering experience for a diverse, multicultural audience in a fast-paced dining environment.
